Hamburg Airport (International destination code HAM)
Hamburg Airport is located north-west of Hamburg city centre. It is ca. 8.5 km (1km = 0.621 miles) away from the city centre and ca. 11.5 km from the conference site.
If you want to travel by public transport, you find information on the website of the HVV, the Hamburg Transport Association. Since there is no direct rail connection to the airport, the transport involves busses and subway or suburban railways. [Link]

From HAM Airport by bus No. 39 (direction U Wandsbek Markt) to Wandsbek Markt, change for bus no. 10, 261 or 263 to busstop "Universitaet der Bundeswehr" for campus Holstenhofweg. Price one-way ticket: Euro 3,90. Get your personal timetable here.

Hamburg central station
Hamburg central station serves 450.000 passengers and visitors daily with 189 long-distance and 407 short-distance trains. The station is located less than 1km from the city centre and 10km from the conference site.

By Car
BAB 24 Exit HH-Jenfeld, turn right, travel Schiffbeker Weg heading north until Rodigallee, turn left, follow Rodigallee to campus Holstenhofweg.
Free bus shuttle between conference site and city centre / conference hotels
There will be a free bus-shuttle every morning and evening during the conference between Helmut Schmidt University (Conference site) and city centre / conference hotels. The bus shuttle timetable can be downloaded here. The distance between conference site and city centre is about 10km.
